David L. Pumphrey
ALEXANDRIA, VA. — David Lance Pumphrey of Alexandria, Va. died at his home on Monday, July 10, 2017. He was 49.
David L. Pumphrey was born July 14, 1967 in Baltimore, the son of Earl Roger Pumphrey and the late Sylvia Diane “Smith” Pumphrey. David was a 1985 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School. He continued his education at Frostburg State University for a year, then he did a semester at Chesapeake Community College before attending and then graduating from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania with a BS degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
David lived all across the United States including Maryland, Minnesota, Boston, California, Virginia and Washington, D.C. David worked several jobs throughout his life all involving litigation and research.
He enjoyed cooking, gaming, and spending time on his own. His BART (Baltimore transportation system) and his Metro-Man (Washington, D.C. metro) entries on social media will be forever remembered and loved by many of his friends and family.
He is survived by his father, Earl Roger Pumphrey of Chestertown; one sister, Stacie Tingen with fiancé Mark Jackson of Chestertown; two nephews, Christopher Tingen and Ethan Tingen, both of Chestertown; his significant other, Steve Sprinsky of New Jersey; and his dog, Boomer.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call one hour prior (6 to 7 p.m.).
