Story ap­pointed to Agri­cul­tural Preser­va­tion Ad­vi­sory Board

CEN­TRE­VILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Com­mis­sion­ers unan­i­mously ap­proved the ap­point­ment of Dale Story to the Agri­cul­tural Preser­va­tion Ad­vi­sory Board dur­ing its Tues­day, July 11, board meet­ing.

Story will serve a five-year term on the ad­vi­sory board that be­gins im­me­di­ately and will end on June 30, 2022.

The Agri­cul­tural Preser va­tion Ad­vi­sory Board, a five-mem­ber group, was formed in 1990 and is based on Mary­land State Law con­cern­ing such boards. The pur­pose of the board is to: ad­vise county govern­ment with re­spect to es­tab­lish­ment of agri­cul­tural dis­tricts and the ap­proval of pur­chases of ease­ments by the foun­da­tion within the county; as­sist in re­view­ing the sta­tus of agri­cul­tural dis­tricts and land un­der ease­ment; ad­vise the Mar yland Agri­cul­tural Land preser­va­tion Fund con­cern­ing county pri­or­i­ties for agri­cul­tural preser­va­tion; and to pro­mote preser­va­tion of agri­cul­ture within the county by of­fer­ing in­for­ma­tion and as­sis­tance to farm­ers con­cern­ing the es­tab­lish­ment of dis­tricts and pur­chase of ease­ments and to per­form any other du­ties as­signed by the county.
