GRASONVILLE — Prospect Bay Country Club is proud to bring to Queen Anne’s County the first area wide golf championship. On Tuesday, Sept. 12, PBCC will host a two-man senior open. The event will be open to golfers age 50 and older with both gross and net champions decided.

PBCC Head Pro Bill Horney cannot recall any county golf event ever being run before in this area. “Our hope and goal is to bring together golfers from throughout Queen Anne’s and possibly neighboring counties in a truly competitive golf environment,” he said.

This event also gives PBCC the opportunity to showcase its golf course and club to QA residents who otherwise would never have the chance to experience Prospect.

“Hopefully, with a successful initial two-man event we can expand in the future to an individual Senior Open and possibly even an all-age Open Championship,” Horney said.

The potential is unlimited and wouldn’t it be great for an individual to own the title of Queen Anne’s Best Golfer, he added.

The tournament is sponsored by Jimmy White Realty/Long & Foster.

Entries and full information is available now and openings will be filled on a first come basis. The field will be limited to 80 players/40 two-man teams, so early registration is encouraged. Information may be obtained by phone (410-8276924) or e-mail (bhorney@ prospect
