Emergency Services adds communications assistant
CENTREVILLE — James “Jim” Alfree accepted the post of communications assistant chief with Queen Anne’s County Emergency Ser vices, and he brings with him knowledge gained from years of professional EMS service plus a lifetime of volunteering as a first responder.
A native of Galena, Alfree, his mother, father and sister are all members of the Galena Volunteer Fire Department.
Alfree had a 29-year career with Cecil County Emergency Services before accepting the post of QA’s communications assistant chief.
“We are very excited about Jim joining our staff. His professional knowledge of emergency services and his personal knowledge of this community are a great asset to our department,” said Scott Haas, director of Queen Anne’s County Emergency Ser vices.
As the assistant chief of communications, Alfree will be located at DES headquarters on Communications Drive. He will oversee and coordinate the 911 Communications Center and be part of the DES Senior Management Team.
Alfree said, “I am very excited to start my second career with such a great agency, and I look forward to serving the citizens of Queen Anne’s County.”
