Peach festival this Saturday
SUDLERSVILLE — Sudlersville’s fourth annual peach festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Godfrey Farm Market, 302 Leager Road.
Guests can expect delicious peach treats from ice cream to cobbler and live music performed off the market’s loading dock.
New to the festival this year is the fire company’s car show featuring tractors. Also, the Sudlersville Memorial Library and Soar in the Saddle will be hosting their first ever zucchini pine box derby. Participants are welcome to race their zucchini during the festival.
Notably a community affair, vendors include the St. Andrews Episcopal Church with their peach cobbler, the Sudlersville Ruritans with their peachtopped funnel cakes, the Sudlersville Lions Club with Godfrey-grown corn-on-the-cob and fresh-squeezed lemonade, the Walker Family with a delicious menu, the Sudlersville Betterment Club and Train Museum with barrel-cart rides, and more.
Family activities include rides around the farm, pick-your-own peaches, moon bounces, educational opportunities and many festival games. Kids can enjoy a “touch-a-truck” display from various community sponsors. The festival is co-hosted by the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company and Godfrey’s Farm.
There will be free, on-site parking directly behind the farm market. Admission is free.
