Peach fes­ti­val this Satur­day

SUDLERSVILLE — Sudlersville’s fourth an­nual peach fes­ti­val will take place Satur­day, Aug. 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the God­frey Farm Mar­ket, 302 Lea­ger Road.

Guests can ex­pect de­li­cious peach treats from ice cream to cob­bler and live mu­sic per­formed off the mar­ket’s load­ing dock.

New to the fes­ti­val this year is the fire com­pany’s car show fea­tur­ing trac­tors. Also, the Sudlersville Me­mo­rial Li­brary and Soar in the Sad­dle will be host­ing their first ever zuc­chini pine box derby. Par­tic­i­pants are wel­come to race their zuc­chini dur­ing the fes­ti­val.

Notably a com­mu­nity af­fair, ven­dors in­clude the St. An­drews Epis­co­pal Church with their peach cob­bler, the Sudlersville Ru­ri­tans with their peach­topped fun­nel cakes, the Sudlersville Li­ons Club with God­frey-grown corn-on-the-cob and fresh-squeezed lemon­ade, the Walker Fam­ily with a de­li­cious menu, the Sudlersville Bet­ter­ment Club and Train Mu­seum with bar­rel-cart rides, and more.

Fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude rides around the farm, pick-your-own peaches, moon bounces, ed­u­ca­tional op­por­tu­ni­ties and many fes­ti­val games. Kids can en­joy a “touch-a-truck” dis­play from var­i­ous com­mu­nity spon­sors. The fes­ti­val is co-hosted by the Sudlersville Vol­un­teer Fire Com­pany and God­frey’s Farm.

There will be free, on-site park­ing di­rectly be­hind the farm mar­ket. Ad­mis­sion is free.
