School board cancels August work session
CENTREVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Board of Education work session scheduled for Aug. 16 has been canceled. The next school board meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Board of Education meeting room at 202 Chesterfield Avenue. The board is expected to go into closed session immediately after the meeting opens at 4:30 p.m.; open session will reconvene at 6 p.m.
Prior to the Sept. 6 meeting, the school board and members of the Queen Anne’s County Public Schools Executive Leadership Team will participate in training on Open Meetings and Appeals with the Maryland Association of Boards of Education.

Chesapeake Women’s Network of Queen Anne’s County presents scholarship awards to 14 women on June 8 at Harris Crab House. The organization’s main philanthropy is providing scholarships for women 21 years of age and older who live in the county and are returning to school in pursuit of college degrees.
