CWN awards $12,250 in schol­ar­ships

STEVESNVILLE — The Ch­e­sa­peake Women’s Net­work of Queen Anne’s County is proud to an­nounce that the or­ga­ni­za­tion awarded schol­ar­ships in the amount of $12,250 to 14 de­serv­ing women.

The women are re­turn­ing to, or be­gin­ning their col­lege ed­u­ca­tion to pur­sue fur­ther stud­ies. The schol­ar­ships en­able women who are de­serv­ing of as­sis­tance to fur­ther their ed­u­ca­tion and bet­ter pro­vide for their fam­i­lies.

At Har­ris Crab­house on June 8, 2017 schol­ar­ships were awarded to the fol­low­ing re­cip­i­ents: Robin Arnold, Amy Bed­nar, Crys­tal Ben­nett, Chris­tine Ca­nary, Tracy Don­aghue, Ni­c­hole Eger­ton, Cather­ine Lea­ger, Pa­tri­cia McBride, Lori Nash, Kel­ley Payne, Caro­line Ri­ley, Kayla Smith, Christina Szyper­ski and Somers Wat­son.

Queen Anne’s County CWN is an or­ga­ni­za­tion of pro­fes­sional women that seeks to fa­cil­i­tate en­rich­ment and pro­fes­sional growth through com­mu­ni­ca­tion and sup­port while stim­u­lat­ing busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties for pro­fes­sional women in the com­mu­nity.

The or­ga­ni­za­tion’s main philanthropy is pro­vid­ing schol­ar­ships for women 21 years of age and older who live/or work in Queen Anne’s County, and are are re­turn­ing to school in pur­suit of fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion. CWN firmly be­lieves that help­ing women im­prove their cir­cum­stances and their fi­nan­cial fu­tures through higher ed­u­ca­tion.
