Fed­er­als­burg came back be­fore the half to tie the score at 25-25 on a layup by Dar­ling.

Green dom­i­nated the sec­ond half for the H.O.Y.A.S., scor­ing 15 of his 20 points. He opened the half with a layup, and then hit two free throws. Fed­er­als­burg’s John­son kept pace with a layup and two free throws of his own to tie the score at 29-29.

Dar­ling, though, gave Fed­er­als­burg a 34-31 lead when he buried a three­p­ointer.

The H.O.Y.A.S. an­swered quickly with a 13-4 run for a 44-38 lead. Green’s layup started the run Cade Don­nelly then hit a three-pointer to take the lead. Free­man then grabbed an offensive re­bound and scored. Bowser added two free throws.

Fed­er­als­burg pulled within two when Diante Dick­er­son drove the lane and scored to cut the lead to 44-42. It would be the clos­est Fed­er­als­burg would get with Green tak­ing over the game, scor­ing seven of the H.O.Y.A.S. nine points and pro­vid­ing suf­fo­cat­ing de­fense.

Green’s layup in­creased the lead to four. Then when Fed­er­als­burg was gain­ing mo­men­tum, he drib­bled up court, saw the de­fense ex­pected him to drive and nailed a three-pointer for a 53-43 lead.
