DENTON — Girl Scouts of the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay’s Friends of Camp Todd are host­ing a beach party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun­day, Aug. 13.

The com­mu­nity is wel­come to at­tend the beach party at Camp Todd, 25012 Beauchamp Branch Road, Denton. Ac­tiv­i­ties will in­clude swim­ming, wa­ter games and a DJ. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be avail­able for pur­chase.

The cost is $8 per per­son or $30 for a fam­ily of four. Chil­dren four and un­der are free. All chil­dren un­der the age of 18 must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. Pr­ereg­is­ter by Aug. 4, by con­tact­ing Ch­eryl Price at lindy4413@ya­hoo.com.

One hundred years ago, the first Girl Scout troop was founded on the Del­marva Peninsula. With nearly 10,000 girls sup­ported by 3,600 adult vol­un­teers, Girl Scouts of the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay helps girls dis­cover their strengths, pas­sions and tal­ents.

To­day, the or­ga­ni­za­tion con­tin­ues the Girl Scout mis­sion of build­ing girls of courage, con­fi­dence and char­ac­ter who make the world a bet­ter place.
