Mary “Marty” Bennington
CENTREVILLE — Mary “Marty” Bennington of Centreville, MD, died on August 15, 2017, at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was 71.
Born in Easton on May 29, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Casmir Joseph Martyna and Doris Helen Satchell. Marty grew up in Easton and attended Easton High School. She held varied jobs over the years, including as a teaching assistant at Grasonville Elementar y, managing the Bay Bridge Motel and Waffle House, and helping with her daughter and son-in-law’s seafood business, but her true life’s work was as a homemaker, caring for her family. Marty enjoyed camping and traveling, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Martyna (Jill) of South Dakota; children: Glen Lynch (Theresa) of Easton, Karen Lynch O’Neal (Mark) of Centreville, and Janice Enfield (Ken) and Lisa Palmatary (Jimmy), both of Easton; grandchildren: Emily Peet, Elizabeth Taylor and Amanda Palmatary; and several beloved great-grandchil- dren, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Larry Bennington; brother, Richard Martyna; grandson, James Clark Palmatary; and great-grandson, Edward Hafferman.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Centreville, where friends and family visited Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Burial followed the service in Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville.

She had two children: Barbara “Peggy” Starkey of Centreville and Eddie “Donnie” Binebrink of Star Tannery, Va. Margaret was pre-deceased by two brothers, Olin Burris and Gordon Burris, and two sisters, Flora Warfield and Jean Burris, all of Aberdeen; a grandchild, Kevin Starkey; and a greatgreat-grandchild, Chase Davis. She is survived by her grandchildren, Terry Binebrink and Mark Binebrink; seven great-grandchildren, Adam Binebrink, Natalie Davis, Peyton Binebrink, Nicholas Binebrink, Rick Starkey, Andy Starkey and Scott Starkey; and six greatgreat-grandchildren, Cole Starkey, Lejla Starkey, Kal Starkey, Wyatt Starkey, Carson Davis and Levi Davis.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A. in Centreville. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.
