SUDLERSVILLE — Josephine (Phen­nie) Timms, 82, died Satur­day, Aug. 19, 2017 at her home in Sudlersville.

She was born April 28, 1935 in Bar­clay, to Charles C. Mer­chant and Jessie L. Wil­son Mer­chant. She moved to Cen­tre­ville and at­tended school there un­til the sev­enth grade. As a child, she en­joyed spend­ing time at her grand­par­ent’s farm in Pond­town. She was mar­ried to Louis C. Timms from 1951 to 1965. They had five chil­dren, 10 grand­chil­dren and 19 great-grand­chil­dren.

In 1966, she met Frank B. Mor­ris and they were to­gether un­til his death in 2007. She en­joyed go­ing to the Delaware State Fair ev­ery year with her chil­dren and grand­chil­dren. Josephine loved to be sur­rounded by her fam­ily and friends and re­ally en­joyed host­ing and go­ing to par­ties.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents and both hus­bands, she was pre­ceded in death by one son, Charles “Sonny” Timms; and three sis­ters, Chris­tine Timms, Doris Yeat­man and Bon­nie Lou Golt. She is sur­vived by her four chil­dren, Ju­dith A. Lord of Fel­ton, Del., L. Don­ald Timms (Joyce) of Chestertown, Deb­ora J. Lea­ger (Robert) of Sudlersville and Richard W. Timms of Sudlersville; 10 grand­chil­dren, Teresa, Kathryn, Frankie, Al­lan, Amy, Rob­bie, Wayne, Kim­berly, Ja­son and Stephanie; 19 great-grand­chil­dren; and the fam­ily dog “Bo.”

A vis­i­ta­tion will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Satur­day, Aug. 26, at Fel­lows Fam­ily Fu­neral Home, 370 Cy­press St., Milling­ton. Ser­vices will be held at 1 p.m. In­ter­ment will fol­low the ser­vice in Crump­ton Ceme­tery in Crump­ton.
