Helen Clough turns 100 years old
Helen Fowler Clough — icon in Price, Maryland — turned 100 years old!
Born Sept. 9, 1917, on Liberty Street, Centreville, to James and Susie Fowler, Helen is part of a family with seven children, two daughters and five sons. Helen is a lifelong resident of Queen Anne’s County.
She celebrated her 100th birthday on Sept. 9, 2017. There was a surprise luncheon at the Price Community Club for her special occasion. Birthday wishes and congratulations went out to Helen from all her family and friends. Friends and family came from near and far.
We wish the very best to her always. Helen is a sweetheart and a bright shining star!
Helen said she has been blessed with good health. She is looking forward to her 101 birthday next year. She is very active and continues to do everything on her own. She enjoys talking to people and said she is happy as a lark!
Helen is well known in the community of Price. Helen moved to Price in 1942 when she married Caleb Clough. Married for 24 years, she is blessed with three grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Helen grew up in Centreville and has many fond memories growing up in town. Helen attended Centreville Elementary school and graduated high school in 1935.
From a city girl to a country girl, she is a member of Price Community Club and Price Bethany United Methodist Church. Helen remembers the quiet days in Price when there was less traffic before the highway changed the way of life.
Helen’s happy life is attributed to a good Christian life, walking and enjoying her favorite past time, reading books, and her favorite local newspaper, the Record Observer. She also enjoys keeping in touch and talking to her family and friends that are near and dear to her.
She always has a warm smile and a happy chuckle. We honor and love
