Win­ners named for ‘Around the Town’

ST. MICHAELS — The St. Michaels Art League is pleased to an­nounce the win­ners of the judged art show “Around the Town.”

The first place win­ner is Sandy Alanko, “Sun­set from the Draw­bridge.” Sec­ond place is Kathie Rogers for “Flow Blue,” and third place went to Ar­lene Zach­mann for “Au­tumn on the Porch.” Hon­or­able men­tions were also awarded to Leah Bell for “Pride”; Camille Wood­bury for “Fall Leaves”; and Anne All­beury Hock for “Bar Neck Cove House.”

Brad Ross served as judge for the show. Ross has won many re­gional awards for his por­traits and plein air paint­ing. He is cur­rently teach­ing oil paint­ing at Academy Arts Mu­seum in Eas­ton.

This show will be on ex­hibit through the end of Oc­to­ber at the St. Michaels Li­brary, lo­cated at 106 Fre­mont St. The art­work can be seen dur­ing Li­brary hours, Mon­day and Thurs­day, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tues­day and Wed­nes­day, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ;and Fri­day and Satur­day, 9 a.m. to noon.

Art­work may be pur­chased by con­tact­ing the artist di­rectly.

This pro­gram is funded in part by a grant from the Tal­bot County Arts Coun­cil with rev­enues pro­vided by the Mary­land State Arts Coun­cil.
