Blue Heron Ladies hold awards luncheon
GRASONVILLE — The Blue Heron Ladies Golf League finished their golf season with a luncheon awards banquet on Oct. 2 at Fisherman’s Crab Deck. In addition to awarding the Championship Tournament prizes, a putting contest, a game of “Guess the Number of Tees,” raffles and door prizes provided the entertainment. Banquet Chairman Nancy Neomany said that 77 golfers participated this year, including league guests Eric Beaufait, Blue Heron manager and golf pro; golf attendants John Sadler and Jack Stewart; former managers/golf attendants Maxine Guertler and Marie Rogosky; and former golfers Lynne Kilby, Brenda Ruth and Peggy Thompson.
Jane Good from Annapolis won the Club Championship this year and the incoming president, Jeanne Freiberg, presented her with the league’s championship plaque. The following players were also awarded prizes for the Championship Tournament: “A” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Debbie Gill, Gross 2nd Place: Ginni Morani; Net 1st Place: Cindy Culp, Net 2nd Place: Lynne George; “B” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Jan Little, Gross 2nd Place: Linda Crawford; Net 1st Place: Gerry Jay, Net 2nd Place: Gini Laszewski; “C” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Shirley Hatch, Gross 2nd Place: Jean Sadler; Net 1st Place: Ellen Kalas, Net 2nd Place: Diane White; “D” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Dot Gibson, Gross 2nd Place: Ronnie Johnson; Net 1st Place: Nancy Neomany, Net 2nd Place: Amy Fidanza.
The prize for Most Improved Player this year went to Barbara Letke. Lisa Brachman received a significant monetary prize for her Hole in One. Prizes were also given in each flight for 1st and 2nd Ringer Low Gross and Low Net, and 29 Birdie Ball Markers were awarded to the players who
