Blue Heron Ladies hold awards lun­cheon

GRA­SONVILLE — The Blue Heron Ladies Golf League fin­ished their golf sea­son with a lun­cheon awards ban­quet on Oct. 2 at Fish­er­man’s Crab Deck. In ad­di­tion to award­ing the Cham­pi­onship Tour­na­ment prizes, a putting con­test, a game of “Guess the Num­ber of Tees,” raf­fles and door prizes pro­vided the en­ter­tain­ment. Ban­quet Chair­man Nancy Neo­many said that 77 golfers par­tic­i­pated this year, in­clud­ing league guests Eric Bea­u­fait, Blue Heron man­ager and golf pro; golf at­ten­dants John Sadler and Jack Ste­wart; for­mer man­agers/golf at­ten­dants Max­ine Guertler and Marie Ro­gosky; and for­mer golfers Lynne Kilby, Brenda Ruth and Peggy Thomp­son.

Jane Good from An­napo­lis won the Club Cham­pi­onship this year and the in­com­ing pres­i­dent, Jeanne Freiberg, pre­sented her with the league’s cham­pi­onship plaque. The fol­low­ing play­ers were also awarded prizes for the Cham­pi­onship Tour­na­ment: “A” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Deb­bie Gill, Gross 2nd Place: Ginni Mo­rani; Net 1st Place: Cindy Culp, Net 2nd Place: Lynne Ge­orge; “B” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Jan Lit­tle, Gross 2nd Place: Linda Craw­ford; Net 1st Place: Gerry Jay, Net 2nd Place: Gini Laszewski; “C” Flight — Gross 1st Place: Shirley Hatch, Gross 2nd Place: Jean Sadler; Net 1st Place: Ellen Kalas, Net 2nd Place: Diane White; “D” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Dot Gib­son, Gross 2nd Place: Ron­nie John­son; Net 1st Place: Nancy Neo­many, Net 2nd Place: Amy Fi­danza.

The prize for Most Im­proved Player this year went to Bar­bara Letke. Lisa Brach­man re­ceived a sig­nif­i­cant mon­e­tary prize for her Hole in One. Prizes were also given in each flight for 1st and 2nd Ringer Low Gross and Low Net, and 29 Birdie Ball Mark­ers were awarded to the play­ers who
