Cross­roads Com­mu­nity cel­e­brates 35 years

CEN­TRE­VILLE — Cross­roads Com­mu­nity, Inc. has op­er­ated as a com­mu­nity based be­hav­ioral health provider on the Mid-Shore in Queen Anne’s, Dorch­ester, Caro­line and Tal­bot coun­ties. The agency be­gan mod­estly with two staff serv­ing six adults in 1983. To­day it cel­e­brates 35 years of con­tin­u­ous op­er­a­tion to the com­mu­nity with 72 staff serv­ing a to­tal of 257 adults, chil­dren and youth in all pro­grams and ser­vices in­clud­ing psy­chi­atric re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion, res­i­den­tial re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion, sup­ported em­ploy­ment, health home, case man­age­ment, respite and youth and young adult ser­vices.

Ac­cord­ing to John Plaskon, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, “In­vest­ing in staff, our great­est as­set, is a no-brainer. We planned this day­long fes­tive event at Camp Wright as a way to re­ju­ve­nate staff re­siliency to sup­port the clients’ men­tal health re­cov­ery.”
