Trevor Noah has a bone to pick with Meryl Streep
On Monday’s “The Daily Show,” host Trevor Noah recapped some of the Golden Globes and took issue with Meryl Streep’s Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech. In her speech, Streep said, “Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if you kick ’em all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.” Noah said he understood what she was doing but added, “You don’t have to make your point by [bleep]ing on someone else’s thing, because a lot of people love football and the arts.”
Schumer said in a release, “Very happy to be a part of the Netflix family for this special. … Maybe now they will look at my ‘Stranger Things’ audition tape to play the demogorgon for Season 2.” She can have the comedy special, but she needs to stay away from the Upside Down.
