Heather Heyer Foundation to offer annual scholarship
CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Heather Heyer Foundation will offer an annual scholarship for students who want to enter into the fields of law, social work or teaching.
The Heather Heyer Foundation Scholarship for Paralegals, Social Workers and Educators will be awarded annually to students who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an American Bar Association-accredited law or paralegal program, an undergraduate social work or social justice-focused bachelor of arts program, or an undergraduate education bachelor of arts program.
The scholarship was established in memory of Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old paralegal who died in Charlottesville on Aug. 12 when a car rammed through a group of anti-racist protesters.
