CHAR­LOTTESVILLE — The Heather Heyer Foun­da­tion will of­fer an an­nual schol­ar­ship for stu­dents who want to en­ter into the fields of law, so­cial work or teach­ing.

The Heather Heyer Foun­da­tion Schol­ar­ship for Par­ale­gals, So­cial Work­ers and Ed­u­ca­tors will be awarded an­nu­ally to stu­dents who have been ac­cepted or are cur­rently en­rolled in an Amer­i­can Bar As­so­ci­a­tion-ac­cred­ited law or para­le­gal pro­gram, an un­der­grad­u­ate so­cial work or so­cial jus­tice-fo­cused bach­e­lor of arts pro­gram, or an un­der­grad­u­ate ed­u­ca­tion bach­e­lor of arts pro­gram.

The schol­ar­ship was es­tab­lished in mem­ory of Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old para­le­gal who died in Char­lottesville on Aug. 12 when a car rammed through a group of anti-racist pro­test­ers.
