INTANGIBLES
EDGE: EVEN
Virginia Tech lost to Clemson 42-35 in last year’s ACC championship game, a loss that — until this week — Hokies coach Justin Fuente candidly admitted “still kills” him. The Hokies won’t be short on motivation this weekend, but neither will Clemson. The Tigers’ defense believes it came up short in the ACC title game. It will be out to prove that the Hokies’ near miss in Orlando, Fla., last year was, in its opinion, a fluke. This will be the first matchup at Lane Stadium between two undefeated teams both ranked in the Top 12, and will feature the latest kickoff time ever for a Tech game at Lane. Tech has lost its past four meetings with Clemson and hasn’t beaten the Tigers since 2007.
