Po­lice in­ves­ti­gate Hopewell shoot­ing

A 23- year- old man was taken to the hos­pi­tal af­ter a shoot­ing on Fri­day, Hopewell po­lice said.

At 10: 43 p. m., po­lice said of­fi­cers re­sponded to the 1600 block of Buren Street for a re­ported shoot­ing.

Once there, of­fi­cers found the man with a sin­gle gun­shot wound to his right hand and a su­per­fi­cial wound to his chest.

The vic­tim was taken to South­side Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter to be treated for non- life- threat­en­ing in­juries, but he is not co­op­er­at­ing with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, po­lice said.

The Hopewell Po­lice Depart­ment said it con­tin­ues to in­ves­ti­gate the shoot­ing and other in­ci­dents that may be re­lated.
