ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.— Cordelral Cook ran for three touchdowns, passed for three touchdowns, and Virginia State continued its undefeated start with a road victory against Elizabeth City State ( 3- 3, 1- 2 CIAA).
Trenton Cannon rushed for 101 yards and started the scoring in the first quarter with a 3- yard run on the Trojans’ first possession of the game.
Cook connected with Zachary Parker on an 80yard touchdown for his first touchdown and followed up with rushing scores of 1, 32 and 9 yards to give Virginia State ( 5- 0, 3- 0) a 35- 0 lead at halftime.
Adding passing touchdowns in the second half to Cannon and Parker, Cook finished with 269 yards passing and 58 yards rushing.
VirginiaUnion 45, Lincoln 23: Led by Darius Taylor’s two touchdowns, the visiting Panthers ( 4- 2, 3- 0 CIAA) used a 28- point second quarter to open up a lead on the Lions ( 0- 6, 0- 3) and cruise to their third straight win.
After the Union defense surrendered the first score of the game in the second quarter, Taylor responded with a 22- yard touchdown pass to Lavatiae Taylor to start a big second quarter for the Panthers.
After Lincoln responded with a 53- yard touchdown run from Carlos Croslin, Taylor found Chazton McKenzie on a 38- yard pass to tie the game at 1414, and Rodney McKay punched the ball in from a yard out to break the deadlock and give Union a lead it didn’t relinquish.

41: Jarome Johnson passed for three touchdowns, and a committee of running backs rushed for 206 yards as the Cavaliers ( 4- 2, 4- 2 Mountain East) downed the Blue Knights ( 3- 3, 2- 3) in Wise.
