DRIVER CHARGED IN DINWIDDIE SCHOOL BUS CRASH
Vehicle overturns; 32 young students taken to hospitals
Virginia State Police investigated a Dinwiddie County school bus crash Thursday morning in the 25000 block of Ferndale Road. The bus, which was carrying 32 elementary school students and headed to Sutherland Elementary, landed on its side in front of the First Assembly of God church, officials said.
A driver who crashed a school bus in 2013 was behind the wheel Thursday when a bus carrying 32 elementary school students overturned in Dinwiddie County.
Thursday’s crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. in the 25000 block of Ferndale Road when the bus, which was traveling south, ran off the right side of the roadway, hit some snow, crossed over Pinecroft Road and landed on its side in front of the First Assembly of God church, said Dinwiddie County Public Schools officials and Virginia State Police.
