DRIVER CHARGED IN DIN­WID­DIE SCHOOL BUS CRASH

Ve­hi­cle over­turns; 32 young stu­dents taken to hos­pi­tals

Vir­ginia State Po­lice in­ves­ti­gated a Din­wid­die County school bus crash Thurs­day morn­ing in the 25000 block of Fern­dale Road. The bus, which was car­ry­ing 32 el­e­men­tary school stu­dents and headed to Suther­land El­e­men­tary, landed on its side in front of the First Assem­bly of God church, of­fi­cials said.

A driver who crashed a school bus in 2013 was be­hind the wheel Thurs­day when a bus car­ry­ing 32 el­e­men­tary school stu­dents over­turned in Din­wid­die County.

Thurs­day’s crash oc­curred shortly af­ter 8 a.m. in the 25000 block of Fern­dale Road when the bus, which was trav­el­ing south, ran off the right side of the road­way, hit some snow, crossed over Pinecroft Road and landed on its side in front of the First Assem­bly of God church, said Din­wid­die County Public Schools of­fi­cials and Vir­ginia State Po­lice.

The bus driver was Linda C. Moss, 67, of Peters­burg, said Din­wid­die schools spokes­woman
