‘We back Pat’ is back
J.R. Tucker’s fifth annual “We Back Pat” event is scheduled for Jan. 20, during the boy and girls basketball games starting at 6 p.m.
“We Back Pat” is an event dedicated to raising money to fight Alzheimer’s disease.
The event first stated when J.R. Tucker grad
heard about the “We Back Pat” events through the Pat Summit Foundation. At the time, her grandfather also was battling the debilitating disease. As an avid basketball player, she took the initiative to organize the first event. Beran’s brother, Robbie
a junior on the boys team, and Taylor
a senior on the girls team, have taken the intuitive to keep the event going.
The Tucker girls and boys teams have raised Jazmine Johnson Daijah Jefferson from an injury.
Midlothian will get things going Saturday against Landstown. The Eagles have held all but one opponent to fewer than 40 points, but the Trojans play in one of the toughest districts. St. Catherine’s will take on Lake Taylor. The Titans will look to use an up-tempo press against the Saints, who are led by VCU signee Sydnei Archie.
