Brownto sell dealerships in Charlottesville area
The BrownAutomotive Group will be selling its five Charlottesville-area dealership locations.
Memphis-based Umansky Auto Group will take over the dealerships located in Charlottesville, while the local operator Kenny Brown will remain in charge of the Brown Collision Center on U.S. 29.
The Charlottesville operations were established in 1981 with two franchises and 24 employees. The local group now employs more than 350 people across eight franchises.
The group expected to change hands early next week, with no anticipated effect on employees.
Fairfax-based Brown Automotive Group owns two dealerships in the Richmond area — Brown’s Richmond Volkswagen and Brown’s Richmond Jaguar, both on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County.
