Rich­mond po­lice seek man who waved gun at 7-Eleven be­fore f lee­ing

The Rich­mond Po­lice Depart­ment is seek­ing the pub­lic’s help iden­ti­fy­ing a man sus­pected of bran­dish­ing a firearm inside a down­town 7-Eleven.

The man walked into the 7-Eleven, lo­cated at 1001 E. Main St., at 5:38 a.m. on Nov. 6 and asked for cigar­il­los, po­lice said. The vic­tim asked the man for iden­ti­fi­ca­tion and, af­ter go­ing back and forth, the man threw his ID on the counter be­fore the vic­tim told the man to leave, po­lice said.

Af­ter re­fus­ing, the man pulled out a firearm and said “I’ll shoot” be­fore flee­ing on foot, ac­cord­ing to au­thor­i­ties.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a black man in his early 20s stand­ing roughly 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was wear­ing a black zipped-up hoodie and head­phones, dark pants and black shoes.
