A former Henrico County bus driver was indicted Monday on 26 new charges accusing him of possession and reproduction of child pornography as well as distributing drugs to minors.

Prior to Monday’s grand jury indictments, Anthony Phillip Mancuso was already facing nine other charges — including three counts accusing him of consensual sex with a minor at least 15 years old, four counts of distributing drugs to a minor, and two counts of giving a minor a tattoo without parental consent.

The grand jury indictments charge Mancuso, 39, with six additional counts of distributing drugs to minors, five charges of reproduction of child pornography, and 15 charges of possessing child pornography, said Susan L. Parrish, an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for Henrico.

Parrish said the child pornography charges are connected to materials investigators found on computer disks.

“Our evidence will show they (the computer disks) belong to him,” she said.

Parrish noted there is no evidence that Mancuso was producing pornography himself.

In a May search warrant filed in Mancuso’s case, police said the defendant would take minors to his home, where the youths would allegedly take drugs and have group sex.

The affidavit did not list the address where the alleged sexual encounters occurred, but other court documents listed a home in the 5000 block of Meredith Woods Road as Mancuso’s residence.

Police said in court papers that they began their investigation in April after a teenage girl told her mother she had been sexually assaulted and begun to use heroin. The girl said she had a sexual relationship with Mancuso and that he had injected her with heroin, police said in their affidavit.

Andy Jenks, a spokesman for Henrico public schools, has said Mancuso started as a bus driver with the school system in January 2011 and that he was changed to a substitute driver in March 2016. Mancuso has not worked for the district since then, Jenks said.

Mancuso’s next court appearance in the case is on Wednesday.
