Richmond Times-Dispatch - - OBITUARIES -

65, died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism on November 3, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Barbara Sloan Cox; his dear children, Katherine "Katey" Cox and Zachary "Zack" Cox; and sister, Connie Mucci. A broadcast engineer of 47 years, Don worked most recently as V.P. of Operations and Technology for CBS/6WTVR in Richmond, Va. His vocation was fixing broken things; his passions were his family, reading and fishing off the coast of Miami, Fla., where he was previously a long-time resident. No one in our lives was ever kinder or smarter or more true-blue. A family memorial will be held at a later time. Contributions can be made in Don’s memory to the American Porphyria Foundation, which supports medical research for blood diseases, 4900 Woodway, Suite 780, Houston, Texas 77056-1837,
