70, of Shack­le­fords, passed away Novem­ber 12, 2017. She had a long, full nurs­ing ca­reer in pub­lic health. Ju­lia was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, Ray­mond and Frances Haynes; and a son, Wray­land Thomas Hanks. She is sur­vived by her husband of 47 years, Paul; chil­dren, Glenn (Amy), Travis (Shirley) and Natalie Mar­shall (Chris); as well as four grand­daugh­ters; a brother, Roland Haynes (Doris); and a sis­ter, Mary Pierce (Jim). A funeral ser­vice will be held 2 p.m. Fri­day, Novem­ber 17, at First Bap­tist Church, West Point, and in­ter­ment will fol­low in New Hope Church Ceme­tery, King and Queen, Va.
