77, of Mid­loth­ian, passed away on Novem­ber 9, 2017. She is sur­vived by her lov­ing husband of 49 years, Wil­liam "Bob"; sons, Wil­liam "Bill" (Mau­reen) of Columbia, Md.; and son, Mark of Mid­loth­ian, Va.; grand­chil­dren, El­iz­a­beth, Vic­tor and Jack of Columbia, Md.; sis­ter, Janet (Car­ring­ton Goode, de­ceased); broth­ers, Gor­don (Paula) Smith and Ben (Nancy) Smith; and many nieces and neph­ews. Myrna taught school for sev­eral sys­tems for over 31 years. Af­ter re­tir­ing from teach­ing in 1995, she kept records for a fash­ion jew­elry as­so­ci­a­tion of Providence, R.I. un­til 2008. She en­joyed time spent with her grand­chil­dren, tak­ing them places and spoil­ing them, go­ing on hikes in area parks with Ch­ester­field County Parks and Re­cre­ation Depart­ment and be­ing by the James and Rap­pa­han­nock Rivers. She also en­joyed vis­it­ing lo­cal historical sites. She served in the Board of Di­rec­tors for Friends of the James River Park as trea­surer from 2009 un­til 2016, and en­joyed tak­ing adult ed­u­ca­tion classes at LLI. A cel­e­bra­tion of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri­day, Novem­ber 17, 2017, at Mor­ris­sett Funeral & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vice, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.
