U.Va., Tech sched­ules re­leased

Cavs will play host to archri­vals Jan. 15, head to Blacks­burg on Feb. 18

The Vir­ginia and Vir­ginia Tech men’s bas­ket­ball sched­ules for the 2018-19 sea­son were an­nounced Thurs­day, as the ACC re­leased its con­fer­ence sched­ule.

The Cava­liers will open ACC play at home against Florida State on Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. in a game that will be tele­vised on ESPN2. U.Va. will then hit the road for games at Boston Col­lege (Jan. 9) and Clem­son (Jan. 12) and re­turn home Jan. 15 for its first game against Vir­ginia Tech. It will tip off at 8 p.m. and be tele­vised on re­gional af­fil­i­ates.

The Cava­liers will open Fe­bru­ary with marquee home games against Mi­ami (Feb. 2) and Duke (Feb. 9), with vis­its to fol­low from Notre Dame on Feb. 16 and Ge­or­gia Tech on Feb. 27.

Other notable ACC road games for U.Va. will in­clude: Duke (Jan. 19), Notre Dame (Jan. 26), North Carolina (Feb. 11), Louisville (Feb. 23) and Syra­cuse (March 4).

The Hok­ies open con­fer­ence play at home against Notre Dame on Jan. 1. The 1 p.m. game will air on ESPNU. The Ir­ish come to Blacks­burg on Feb. 23 for a 4 p.m. game.

As part of the ACC sched­ule, the Hok­ies will play three “Big Mon­day” games on ESPN. They will visit North Carolina on Jan. 21; host Louisville on Feb. 4; and host Vir­ginia on Feb. 18 for those games.

Tech also will play home and away games against Ge­or­gia Tech and Mi­ami. Other vis­i­tors to Cas­sell Coli­seum in­clude Boston Col­lege (Jan. 5), Wake For­est (Jan. 19), Syra­cuse (Jan. 26) and Duke (Feb. 26).
