Taysha McGuire con­trib­uted with a goal and an as­sist. Hai­ley Sims, Tay­lor McMa­hon and Sa­van­nah Hud­son scored one each dur­ing the Lancers’ five-goal bar­rage in the se­cond half. Malia Allen and Kylie Men­dez each played a half at goal and com­bined for seven saves.

Sierra 4, Oak­dale 1 OAK­DALE — Oak­dale (2-6-2, 6-8-2) held the lead for the ma­jor­ity of the match while putting mul­ti­ple de­fend­ers on Sierra stand­out’s Yas­min Ballew and Ja­dyn Shinn.

That was fresh­man winger Tiana Cello’s cue to shine. Af­ter mov­ing from the right side to the left, Cello came through for the ty­ing and go-ahead goals in the 63rd and 73rd min­utes. Ballew and Shinn did not come up empty-handed. Shinn as­sisted Cello’s se­cond goal and scored one of her own in the 77th minute with the pass com­ing from Ballew.

Then in the fi­nal minute, Jas­mine Loaiza, who leads Sierra (10-0-0, 19-0-1) with 14 as­sists, scored her first goal of the sea­son on a penalty kick that was awarded fol­low­ing a hand­ball in the box.

“This was a game we had to bat­tle all the way through,” Sierra coach Manuel Pires said. “We had op­por­tu­ni­ties to score, but couldn’t find the back of the net. The se­cond half was a chal­lenge for us to step up. When we got that first goal it opened the door.” Man­teca 3, Kim­ball 0 Ka­ley Miller and Kait­lynn Fun­sch did the dam­age for se­cond-place Man­teca (8-11, 16-4-1), which heads to Sierra for a big match Thurs­day.

Miller knocked in both of the Buf­faloes’ first-half goals with the Fun­sch on the as­sists. Roles were re­versed for the in­surance goal in the se­cond half.

Aimee Meier recorded five goalie saves, while Man­teca at­tempted 20 shots.

Mari­posa 2, Ripon Chris­tian 1 MARI­POSA — Af­ter go­ing 58 straight games with­out a loss in South­ern Ath­letic League play, the Knights (7-2-1, 10-7-1) have now dropped two in a row to fur­ther tighten a four-team race for cham­pi­onship.

Brittany Bloemhof put Ripon Chris­tian ahead in the 20th minute with a wellplaced shot taken from the top of the penalty box. Mari­posa (7-2-1, 9-3-1) an­swered in the 38th and 68th min­utes.

Var­sity boys Ripon Chris­tian 1, Mari­posa 0 MARI­POSA — Ripon Chris­tian (1-7-1, 4-13-2) notched its first league win of the sea­son thanks to Matthijs Moret’s goal set up by a pass from Nathan Litfin. Johnny Van Vliet got the shutout at goal.

Frosh-soph East Union 16, Lathrop 0 LATHROP — Jas­mine Mast, Se­lena Medeiros, Me­lanie Gon­za­lez and Kai­ley Soulier spear­headed the on­slaught with two goals apiece.

Also find­ing the net were Naren­dra Co­var­ru­bias, Ileana Car­rillo, Jen­nifer Lopez, Tif­fany Liebelt, Lucy Diaz, Jas­mine Ruiz, Katelin Bean and Vanessa Markham.
