Disturbed by ‘racial, anti-police rant’ in Baca letter
Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
I really believe Larry Baca enjoys being ink slapped in the paper as if it makes him feel important. What he wrote in the Manteca Bulletin (“The moronic idea to arm teachers”) was an insult to every officer suggesting that if a black teacher had a gun during a school shooting and the SWAT team arrived, how many bullet holes would be found his body.
When Amy Sullivan expressed her displeasure of Baca’s letter in the paper, he came back insulting her as “ill informed” and living in an “overly perfumed bubble”. Baca then wrote in his response, “Notice I didn’t say where the bullets came from” as if to suggest Amy was wrong to point out Baca’s anti-police racial rhetoric. However, Baca then immediately points out a statistic to suggest “black males between the ages of 15 and 34 were nice times more likely to be killed by police than any other demographic.”
As an officer of 30 years, I am also disturbed by Baca’s racial; anti-police rant and came up with some statistics of my own from the Daily Wire.
▶1. Cops kill nearly twice as many whites than blacks.
▶2. More whites and Hispanics die from police homicides than blacks.
▶3. Black and Hispanic police officers are more likely to fire a gun at blacks than white officers.
▶4. Blacks are more likely to kill an officer than to be killed by an officer.
▶5. 93 percent of black homicides involved killing by other blacks.
Also in a study by Dr. Richard R. Johnson from the University of Toledo, an average of 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually while an average of 112 black men die annually for either justified/non-justified police-involved killings.
Baca, you owe every officer in this city and beyond an apology for your insensitive, racial rhetoric.
Then Baca had to throw in the KKK for whatever reason with more racial rhetoric totally excluding the fact that the KKK originated through the Democrat party and was a branch of the Democrat party, refusing to grant rights to blacks.
Last, Baca must be called out for another flat out lie claiming I am in favor of arming 700,000 to 1.4 million teachers. What a lie. For the record, here is the direct quote of what I wrote in the Manteca Bulletin on March 5, 2018, “Allow those teachers who want to be trained to carry a firearm to be able to do so.”
So Baca had to be corrected again for misleading what was written as well as his usual insults to those he disagrees with. However, I am sure Baca is thrilled to have the attention even though he is ink slapped yet again. Frank Aquila Manteca
