Ruth, 87, went Home to be with the Lord on Wed­nes­day, May 11, 2016, in Modesto, Cal­i­for­nia. Ruth was born to Sa­muel and Metha (Gil­laspy) Thomas on the out­skirts of Modesto on March 31, 1929, and lived in the sur­round­ing area un­til her mar­riage to Ray­mond Park in 1953.

To­gether they em­barked on 20 years of trav­el­ing from home to home dur­ing Ray’s Navy ca­reer. They re­turned to live in this area in 1975 and set­tled in their present home, their 50th, in Escalon in 1977. Through­out the years, Ruth loved to sing and to teach chil­dren about the love of God. Ruth was a mem­ber of Trin­ity Church in Escalon. She is sur­vived by her sons, Ste- ven (and Donna) Park of Escalon and Richard (and Ar­lene) Park of Oak­dale, as well as four grand­chil­dren, four great-grand­chil­dren, and two step-great-grand­chil­dren. She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Ray, af­ter 56 short years of mar­riage, and by her sis­ter, Mar­garette Mar­conett.

A Memo­rial Ser­vice will be held on Fri­day, May 20, at 10 a.m. at Trin­ity Church, 1900 Cal­i­for­nia Street in Escalon. In lov­ing mem­ory, do­na­tions to the Youth Cen­ter Pro­ject of Trin­ity Church would be ap­pre­ci­ated.
