Women’s Club Closes Sea­son With In­stal­la­tion

The River­bank Fed­er­ated Women’s Club cel­e­brated the con­clu­sion of its ‘sea­son’ with the in­stal­la­tion of of­fi­cers for the next year.

The cer­e­mony was held at the River­bank Scout Hall on Tues­day, May 17 at the club’s last meet­ing of the year. The women take the sum­mer off and re­sume meet­ings in Septem­ber.

The Gen­eral Fed­er­a­tion of Women’s Clubs is an in­ter­na­tional women’s or­ga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cated to com­mu­nity im­prove­ment by en­hanc­ing the lives of oth­ers through vol­un­teer ser­vice, ac­cord­ing to the na­tional web­site. The or­ga­ni­za­tion is based in Wash­ing­ton D.C.

The lo­cal group meets on the third Tues­day of the month, Septem­ber through May, at the Scout Hall.

They just com­pleted one of their main fundrais­ing ef­forts, an En­chi­lada Sale. They also host a Hol­i­day Lun­cheon to raise money.

In ad­di­tion to sup­port­ing a Robotics club at Beyer High School in Modesto, where sev­eral River­bank stu­dents at­tend, the club pro­vides schol­ar­ships for sev­eral high school stu­dents among other com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties.


New of­fi­cers of the River­bank Fed­er­ated Women’s Club are in­ducted for 2016-17 at the group’s last meet­ing for this sea­son at the Scout Hall. The club takes the sum­mer off and re­sumes again in the fall. Next year’s of­fi­cers are, from left: Mar­i­lyn McRitchie, pres­i­dent; Mari Shu­bin, trea­surer; Hope Galvez, record­ing sec­re­tary; Jea­nine Tucker, mem­ber­ship chair; Cindy In­gle, stand­ing in for Judy Rossi, cor­re­spond­ing sec­re­tary; and Leanne Jones-Cruz, vice pres­i­dent. Not present was Mary Lo­max, par­lia­men­tar­ian.
