River­bank Li­brary Plans Septem­ber Events

The Mayor’s Book Club, of­fered at the River­bank Li­brary, will be held on Mon­day, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. Mayor Richard O’Brien will read a story to preschool age chil­dren and their fam­i­lies at the li­brary fol­low­ing Story Time.

Fam­i­lies can visit the li­brary for a game night on Tues­day, Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m. Par­tic­i­pants can en­joy gi­ant ver­sions of Jenga, Domi­noes, Con­nect Four, Check­ers and Tic-Tac-Toe.

Teens and tweens can learn how to make fla­vored lip balms on Tues­day, Sept. 19 at 3:30 p.m. Crafters can mix and match col­ors and fla­vors to make their own unique lip balms. This pro­gram is de­signed for ages nine and up, and is spon­sored by the Friends of the River­bank Li­brary.

Adults are in­vited to the “On the Road to Cit­i­zen­ship: Nat­u­ral­iza­tion 101” pro­gram on Wed­nes­day, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. This free pro­gram will fo­cus on the ba­sics of nat­u­ral­iza­tion. A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from United States Cit­i­zen­ship and Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vices will give an over­view of what it takes to be­come a cit­i­zen and how el­i­gi­bil­ity is de­ter­mined in the nat­u­ral­iza­tion process. The pro­gram will ad­dress the nat­u­ral­iza­tion in­ter­view and how to avoid po­ten­tial scams. On the Road to Cit­i­zen­ship is spon­sored by United States Cit­i­zen­ship and Im­mi­gra­tion Ser­vices.

The River­bank Li­brary Book Club will meet on Tues­day, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. to dis­cuss ‘Me Be­fore You’ by Jojo Moyes. Li­brary book clubs pro­vide an op­por­tu­nity for com­mu­nity mem­bers to ex­pand their knowl­edge of books through mean­ing­ful dis­cus­sion with oth­ers.
