Women’s Club Names New Slate Of Officers
Riverbank’s Federated Women’s Club met recently to close out their year and name officers for the coming year.
The organization will meet again in the fall after taking the summer off.
The local unit is affiliated with the California Federation of Women’s Clubs, CFWC, and, through it, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. It is an international organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.
The clubs of the CFWC are located throughout the state with the primary purpose of carrying out charitable service programs, providing leadership opportunities, and enriching the lives of members through personal growth.
The Riverbank Federated Women’s Club is devoted to improving the quality of life in Riverbank, according to outgoing president Marie Shubin.
“Members can be found participating in community activities,” she noted.
All of the profits from the club’s fund raising activities are reinvested in the community, according to Shubin. Many Riverbank students have benefited from their Glenda Alpers scholarship program and sponsorships to Scout camps, robotics competitions and Tech Trek.
The RFWC meets the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Riverbank Scout Hall at 3017 High St. New members 18 and over are welcome to attend. This club was founded in 1966 and is a State and National Club. Contact Marilyn McRitchie at 209-869-1760 for more information.
The Riverbank Federated Women’s Club recently seated new officers for its 2018-19 season coming up. Missing are Adriana Panero, corresponding secretary; and Chris Edwards, recording secretary. Theme for the event was golf, hence the ‘bouquet’ of toy clubs in the photo.
