A Car Seat Checkup Event is sched­uled for Satur­day, July 14 in River­bank.

Hosted by a group of spon­sors, those in­clude the Safe Kids Stanis­laus County pro­gram, Doc­tors Med­i­cal Cen­ter and River­bank Po­lice Ser­vices, among oth­ers.

Learn how to in­stall your child’s car seat or booster seat and find out if it’s time for a change, de­pend­ing on your child’s age, weight and height.

Na­tion­ally cer­ti­fied tech­ni­cians will be on hand for the event, set from 9 a.m. to noon at Gal­axy The­atre, 2525 Pat­ter­son Road. The event is sched­uled for the three-hour win­dow or un­til they have served 50 chil­dren.

The tech­ni­cians will in­spect and help you prop­erly in­stall your child’s car seat.

Of­fi­cials said women who

are six months or more preg­nant are wel­come to come and re­ceive as­sis­tance in­stalling a car seat. Please bring proof of

preg­nancy. Those plan­ning to at­tend should also plan on spend­ing ap­prox­i­mately 45 min­utes per car seat and should bring the car seat, the child who rides in the seat and, if pos­si­ble, both the child seat in­struc­tion

man­ual and the ve­hi­cle owner’s man­ual.
