En­ter­tain­ment Takes Cen­ter Stage At Park Fete

Rock and roll, an Elvis trib­ute, dancers and a ‘cir­cus of smiles’ will all take to the stage for the week­end’s Park Fete cel­e­bra­tion in Escalon.

The an­nual sum­mer fes­ti­val brings in vis­i­tors from near and far and the en­ter­tain­ment is vir­tu­ally non­stop from Fri­day evening to late night Satur­day.

Kick­ing off the fun on Fri­day, July 13 will be The New Past, per­form­ing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the city’s Main Street Stage, sit­u­ated in the park along the city’s main street.

Escalon High School grads Mike Martin and Aaron Brown have been friends for over 30 years and have crafted a unique style of crowd­pleas­ing mu­sic and sto­ry­telling.

Gotcha Cov­ered will be the head­liner on Fri­day night, play­ing from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The 2012 MAMA (Modesto Area Mu­sic As­so­ci­a­tion) win­ner for Best Blue Col­lared Band, the group fea­tures a wide va­ri­ety of mu­sic, cov­er­ing hits from the ‘70s on up to to­day’s mu­sic.

On Satur­day, the lo­cal Power House Dance Stu­dio takes over the stage at 11:45 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. for a num­ber of per­for­mances by a va­ri­ety of age groups. The Escalon Azores Band will per­form from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the El Por­tal/ EHS Sum­mer Band takes the stage from 1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Join in with the Cir­cus of Smiles from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a clown com­edy, jug­gling, ac­ro­batic per­for­mance fun for all ages.

Elvis Trib­ute Artist, Tony Fre­itas, per­forms from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. fea­tur­ing a num­ber of hits and Never 2 Late will bring their coun­try sounds to the stage from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Greg Rivera, Brian Head and Tim Ta­nis of­fer up soft rock and coun­try from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the head­liner band for Satur­day night, Alex Lucero and Live Again, will wow the crowd from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a mix of old and new, fea­tur­ing rock, funk and even a lit­tle soul.

The an­nual Park Fete cel­e­bra­tion has no ad­mis­sion fee and all en­ter­tain­ment on the Main Stage is also pro­vided free of charge.

The New Past will be a re­turn­ing mu­si­cal group to the Park Fete stage, sched­uled to per­form from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fri­day, July 13.
