The North­west Ge­or­gia Winds and Guests will present “Across the Big Pond XVII” on Satur­day at 7:30 p.m. at the Fo­rum River Cen­ter. The an­nual gala Celtic con­cert will in­clude bag­pipers, dancers, soloists and more. Ad­mis­sion is $5.

The Porce­lain Art Guild will meet Satur­day at 10 a.m. at Paula Baker’s stu­dio. The “Glaz­ing Porce­lain Orchids” work­shop will be con­ducted by Anna Ni­chols. For more in­for­ma­tion call 706-266-6534.

The Three Rivers Singers will per­form a free con­cert Sun­day at Holy Trin­ity Lutheran Church, 3000 Gar­den Lakes Blvd. The con­cert will be­gin at 4 p.m. in the sanc­tu­ary as the Three Rivers Singers present a pro­gram called “If It’s Baroque, Don’t Fix It,” a col­lec­tion of time­less fa­vorites in­clud­ing Baroque choral pieces and some en­ter­tain­ing mod­ern in­ter­pre­ta­tions of mu­sic by Bach, Han­del, Pachel­bel, Pur­cell and Vivaldi.


The Friends of the Li­brary’s spring­time Pa­per­back Book Sale will be in the Oostanaula Room of the Rome-Floyd County Li­brary on River­side Park­way. The sale will be open April 26-27 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All reg­u­lar-size paperbacks will be 25 cents or 5 for a $1. All over­size paperbacks will be 50 cents or 3 for a $1.

The 27th an­nual Up the Creek Trail and Cen­tury Ride will be held April 29. Early reg­is­tra­tion will be held April 28 from 2-6 p.m. at Cy­cle Ther­apy, 27 Cen­tral Plaza. The New Hori­zons Band will have an or­ga­ni­za­tional meet­ing on May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in Franklin Hall at Shorter Univer­sity. This group is com­prised of mem­bers 50 years old or older who ei­ther played a band in­stru­ment in school and haven’t played in many years or would like to learn to play an in­stru­ment and play in a group set­ting. The third an­nual A Night to Re­mem­ber: An Adult Prom ben­e­fit­ing the Alzheimer’s As­so­ci­a­tion will take place May 13 at 8 p.m. at the For­rest Place Ball­room on Broad Street. The event with a mas­quer­ade theme will help fund lo­cal pro­grams, ser­vices, ad­vo­cacy and re­search by the Alzheimer’s As­so­ci­a­tion.
