Michael Ed­ward Chap­man

Mr. Michael Ed­ward Chap­man, age 46, of Rome, passed away on Sun­day, April 16, 2017, in an At­lanta hos­pi­tal.

Mr. Chap­man was born in Floyd County, Ge­or­gia on July 16, 1970, son of Claude “Ju­nior” Chap­man and Martha Reece Chap­man. He was a grad­u­ate of the Coosa High School and was of the Bap­tist faith.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Buffy Ann Wil­liams Chap­man, to whom he was mar­ried on Fe­bru­ary 14, 1995; 3 sons, Joshua Wil­liams and his wife, Shelby, of Mo­bile, Alabama, Zach­ery Miller, Rome, and Michael Chap­man Jr., Rome; his par­ents, Claude “Ju­nior” Chap­man and Martha Reece Chap­man, Rome; a brother, Cur­tis Chap­man and his wife, Andi, Rome; 2 sis­ters, Tammy Mat­ney and her hus­band, James, and Lynn McCain and her hus­band, Jeff, both of Rome; a grand­son, Jus­tice Wil­liams; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 2 p.m. on Thurs­day, April 20, 2017, in the Chapel at Hen­der­son & Sons Fu­neral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev­erend Jerry Brooks of­fi­ci­at­ing.

The fam­ily re­ceived friends at Hen­der­son & Sons Fu­neral Home, South Chapel, on Wed­nes­day from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. At other hours, the fam­ily may be con­tacted at the res­i­dence.

Hen­der­son & Sons Fu­neral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the fu­neral ar­range­ments.
