Wo­man ac­cused of tak­ing cards, charg­ing $1,240

A Rome wo­man has been charged with mul­ti­ple counts of felony fi­nan­cial trans­ac­tion card fraud for crimes that al­legedly oc­curred in July.

Ac­cord­ing to Floyd County Jail re­ports:

Brittany Marie Bishop, 28, of 3 Eas­tover Drive, was taken into custody Monday at her home on four counts of felony fi­nan­cial trans­ac­tion card fraud, one count of felony iden­tity theft and a felony pro­ba­tion vi­o­la­tion.

Bishop is ac­cused of tak­ing two of a vic­tim’s credit cards and us­ing them to run up more than $1,240 in pur­chases be­tween July 4 and July 11.

Bishop is be­ing held in the Floyd County Jail with­out bond.

Man fac­ing charges re­lated to shoplift­ing

A Dou­glas County man is ac­cused of be­ing a party to the crime of shoplift­ing from a Rome phar­macy two years go.

Ac­cord­ing to Floyd County Jail re­ports:

Clarence Mau­rice Lo­gan, 23, of 3240 An­nee­wa­kee Falls Park­way, Dou­glasville, was arrested Tuesday and charged with a felony party to shoplift­ing at the CVS Phar­macy, 1905 Martha Berry High­way on April 19, 2015.

The war­rant for his ar­rest al­leges that he served as a look­out for an­other sus­pect who jumped the phar­macy counter and stole as­sorted non-nar­cotic med­i­ca­tions val­ued at more than $1,100.

The phar­ma­cist was away from the counter as­sist­ing an­other cus­tomer when the crime oc­curred.

Lo­gan was be­ing held in the Floyd County Jail Tuesday night with­out bond.

Po­lice find meth, pills af­ter traf­fic stop

A Can­ton wo­man, who was driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence, was pulled over af­ter she stopped at two green lights in down­town Rome early Tuesday morn­ing, lead­ing po­lice to find metham­phetamine and pills.

Ac­cord­ing to Floyd County Jail re­ports:

Keisha He­lene Tay­lor, 36, of 1152 Hick­ory Road, Can­ton, was arrested around 2 a.m. Tuesday near the in­ter­sec­tion of Broad Street and Sixth Av­enue. She had oxy­codone and tra­madol pills in an un­marked con­tainer.

She is charged with two felony counts of pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule II con­trolled sub­stance and one count of pos­ses­sion of a Sched­ule IV con­trolled sub­stance. She is ad­di­tion­ally charged with mis­de­meanor DUI, im­proper stop­ping and drugs not in orig­i­nal con­tainer.

Tay­lor was in jail Tuesday night pend­ing a $5,700 bond.
