Angry woman arrested for home invasion, assault

-

Police said a Royal Oak woman was arrested after her live-in female partner went to another apartment to spend the night and the suspect ended up forcing her way inside the other residence, punched one woman and threw a flower pot at another woman.

The incident played out among the suspect, 25, a man who lives at another apartment, his girlfriend and another woman at his residence in the 4400 block of Judson Avenue. Charges were pending Friday.

The man is a friend of the suspect’s partner and invited her to his place because the suspect was being verbally abusive to her partner, police said.

The suspect later showed up at the man’s apartment Wednesday morning and he opened slightly, police said.

“She pushed the door all the way open and entered and got in an argument with the man,” said Royal Oak police Lt. Albert Carter.

One of the women at the apartment tried to call 911 and the suspect punched her and later threw a flower pot at another woman there. The flower pot missed hitting the other woman and the man forced the suspect out of the apartment.

The suspect left in her car but returned after police had been called.

“She had not been drinking, she was angry,” Carter. Officers arrested the woman for felony home invasion, felonious assault, and assault and battery.
