A new smartphone app has been launched to connect people with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Users can submit tips to the sheriff’s office, get information about the Oakland County Jail and inmates, receive push notifications/ alerts, search sex offenders in the area, connect to the sheriff’s social media platforms and website, thank a deputy, learn about community programs, and more.

“Technology is evolving, and we like to stay on the cutting edge,” Sheriff Mike Bouchard stated in a press release. “With advances in technology, it is more and more critical we continue to keep up in order to stay connected with our communities and our citizens.

“This mobile app serves as another way for us to be transparent and keep our people informed of the things we are doing in the county. We are excited to offer this solution to the people of Oakland County.”

The app was created by TheSheriffApp.com, a division of OCV, LLC, which specializes in mobile app development for public safety organizations across the country. “More and more public safety agencies are realizing the opportunity they have to reach and serve their public by the way of their smartphone and other devices,” said Kevin Cummings, OCV vice president.

Download the app for free via the App Store and Google Play by searching “Oakland Sheriff.”
