Nineteen nonprofit organizations are going head to head in a people’s choice style competition hosted by the Pontiac Community Foundation.

It’s called the Pontiac Impact Challenge, and it comes with a grand prize of $10,000 for the Pontiac nonprofit that receives the most votes from the public by midnight on Dec. 15. The organization in second place will receive $5,000 and third will win $2,500.

The challenge is meant to provide critical funding to nonprofit organizations during a year where fundraising will be historically low. The list of contenders range from food programs to enrichment and environmentalism in the city of Pontiac. The Pontiac Community Foundation, formed in 2018, also received a large grant this September to help expand its operations. A $100,000 grant from the Ballmer Group is being utilized for Capacity Building grants in the city. To vote, visit pontiaccommunityfoundation.org.
