A 47-year- old Pontiac man was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly carjacking a cab driver at knifepoint in Rochester Hills.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged incident happened at around 2 p.m. after the cab driver had reportedly driven the suspect to an ATM so he could get $15 owed for a cab ride. That’s where he allegedly pulled a knife on the cab driver and left with his vehicle.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies located the stolen cab at a nearby hotel and the suspect was standing next to it. He was then taken into custody and the knife allegedly used was in the cab, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending issuance of charges.
