And don’t forget to sign up for our free eNewsletter, Under Sail, via our website sailmagazine.com I had just bought Umpqua, a 1984 Starwind 27, in Mamaroneck on Long Island Sound and needed to relocate her. My wife and I tied up for the night in Newburgh, New York, on the Hudson River after a long day of sailing. We’d just secured the mooring lines at Umpqua’s new home port of Kingston as the sun was setting. She’s our first sailboat, and we already love the entire experience!

During a cruise exploring the rivers of the Chesapeake aboard Sydney, my Dana 24, I found myself at Bungay Creek, a beautiful anchorage off the Chester River in Maryland.

– David Siver, Chaumont, NY

It was late afternoon in Chaumont Bay on Lake Ontario, a favorite for American and Canadian sailors alike, when this American Sail 14 caught my eye.

— Ted Heinz, Stockholm, Sweden

I was out for a daysail on Marielle, my Bellona 23, when I took this shot of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35 in the Stockholm Archipelago.
