SAIL - - Letters - – Alan Horoschak, Truth or Consequences, N.M.

Thank you for the feature Staying Alive (July 2017). Many years ago in Hawaii, my wife, Liz, and I had a radio show called BOAT-TALK. One of our guests was the USCG Marine Safety Officer from Honolulu. When asked about people falling overboard, we were told that the usual person was a male, hence the term “man” overboard, and that on 90 percent of the recovered bodies, the fly was undone. Warm sun, cold beer and nature takes its course. We are now retired in the New Mexico desert and only have to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes looking for a nibble. Be safe out there.
