San An­to­nio is wait­ing in line to re­ceive the first so-called “next gen­er­a­tion” Dunkin’ Donuts store in Texas.

The brand has an­nounced plans to open the mod­ern­ized shop at 10029 San Pe­dro Ave. about a half-mile north of Loop 410 this fall.

The new model fea­tures an up­dated de­sign aes­thetic and sev­eral tech­nol­ogy up­grades. Nitro-in­fused cold brew cof­fee and other on-trend cold bev­er­ages will be avail­able from a brew­pub-style tap sys­tem. Cus­tomers can or­der from dig­i­tal kiosks in the store, or place an or­der from a phone and pick it up at a ded­i­cated mo­bile or­der drive-thru.

Dunkin’ Donuts, launched in 1950 in Quincy, Mass., has ex­panded to more than 12,500 lo­ca­tions in 46 coun­tries across the globe. In Jan­uary, the brand’s first next gen shop opened in Quincy.
