1 Stone sentence: A federal judge in Washington has denied a request by President Trump’s friend Roger Stone for a twomonth delay before he begins serving his 40month prison term. The judge on Friday granted Stone an additional two weeks before he must report to a federal prison in Jesup, Ga., on July 14 but ordered him placed under home confinement in the meantime. A jury convicted Stone in November of seven felonies, including lying to federal investigators. Stone was charged as a result of the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 election. 2 Princeton name change: Princeton University has announced plans to remove the name of former President Woodrow Wilson from its public policy school because of his segregationist views. University president Christopher Eisgruber said in a letter to the school community Saturday that the board of trustees had concluded that “Wilson’s racist views and policies make him an inappropriate namesake” for Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs and the residential college. Wilson, the 28th U.S. president from 1913 to 1921, also barred Black students from Princeton while serving as university president.

3 Noose probe: Officials in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington said Saturday that they have asked the FBI to investigate after a piece of rope resembling a noose was found in a Black firefighter’s locker. The rope was discovered at a fire station June 15, the city said in a statement. “Acts like this that embody hate, intimidation, and aggression will not be tolerated,” Bloomington Fire Chief Ulie Seal said in the release. “The firefighter who brought this to our attention has demonstrated extreme strength and bravery and has done the right thing.” Mayor Tim Busse said the matter will be thoroughly investigated. 4 Deadly crash: Seven people were killed and three were injured in a crash in El Paso, Texas, after Border Patrol agents tried to stop their car. Agents had responded to a report of suspicious activity, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement Friday. The driver fled at high speed and agents stopped their pursuit, police said. Agents then found the vehicle after it had crashed into a semitrailer, the border agency said. Three people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the police said. The driver, an 18yearold man from El Paso, was among those who died. The nine passengers included three El Paso residents, three Mexican citizens and a Guatemalan national, according to a statement by the El Paso police. 5 Workplace shooting: A gunman who fatally shot two coworkers and critically wounded another at a warehouse Friday in Springfield, Ill., died after apparently shooting himself, the city’s police chief said. Police believe Michael Collins, 48, took his own life after killing the coworkers at the BunnOMatic facility. “Words can’t explain what occurred,“police Chief Kenny Winslow said. “I know we all want answers. People want motives. I don’t have that at this time. It’s too early in the investigation.” The victims were not identified.
