Bears stop 3-game slide

BOUL­DER, Colo. — Kris­tine Anigwe scored 29 points and grabbed 11 re­bounds to lead No. 24 Cal to a 65-53 vic­tory over Colorado on Fri­day night to snap a three­game los­ing streak.

Anigwe, the Pac-12 Con­fer­ence’s No. 2 scorer at 23.3 points a game, scored 25 of her points af­ter half­time. Court­ney Range added 10 points, Mikayla Cowl­ing had nine as­sists, and Pen­ina David­son con­trib­uted a ca­reer-high six blocks.

The Bears trailed by as many as 12 points in the se­cond quar­ter and 34-25 at half­time be­fore rallying. Cal (14-3, 2-3 Pac-12) outscored the Buf­faloes 24-12 in the third quar­ter, in­clud­ing a 19-1 run to start the se­cond half.

Colorado (11-5, 1-4 Pac-12) led from mid­way through the first quar­ter un­til Asha Thomas tied the game with a bucket early in the third.

Anigwe’s jumper put the Bears up 58-48 with five min­utes left. The Buf­faloes got to 58-53 be­fore Anigwe scored the next four points and Range added a three­p­ointer. Alexis Robin­son scored 18 points, Kennedy Leonard 13 and Ha­ley Smith 10 for Colorado.
