Rafael Labu­tan passed away peace­fully on Septem­ber 12, 2018 at the age of 93. Beloved hus­band of Tere­sita; lov­ing fa­ther of Rafael Jr. (Jean), Brenda and Tyrene; car­ing grand­fa­ther of Salina, An­drea, Allyson, Trevor and Wi­laila and great grand­fa­ther to Lola, Jas­mine and Ry­der.

Born Oc­to­ber 24, 1924 in Tuba, Benguet, Philip­pines. The son of San­ti­ago Labu­tan and Kaisha Ki­was and pre­de­ceased by his sur­viv­ing sib­lings from the Ja­panese in­va­sion of the Philip­pines: Elisa, Charles, Ni­co­lasa, Al­ban, Ade­line and So­ri­ano.

He was a Philip­pine guerilla fighter be­fore join­ing the US Navy where he served over 20 years. Upon re­tir­ing from the Navy, he worked an­other 20 years for Wells Fargo Bank and re­tired in 1989.

Friends may visit on Tues­day, Septem­ber 18th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Dug­gan’s Serra Mor­tu­ary, 500 West­lake Av­enue, Daly City. Rosary at 7:00pm. Fu­neral Mass will be cel­e­brated on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 19th at 11:00am, at St. Gabriel Church, 2559 40th Av­enue, San Fran­cisco. In­ter­ment to fol­low at Sky­lawn Me­mo­rial Park. In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions may be made to St. Gabriel Church.
